WBR-6001 WDS Configuration Guide


*Modem must set to bridge mode for router to dial up(router as PPPoE mode).

Wireless Router A Setting
Factory Default Setting:
IP Address: 192.168.0.1 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 DHCP: Enable

TURN OFF your Anti-Virus & Firewall Program, e.g. Norton Anti-Virus before start installation

STEP 1: Launch your internet explorer and key in "192.168.0.1" then press enter
STEP 2: Key in "password" at the text box then click "Login"


STEP 3: SELECT "Advanced Setup" and click "Enter"


STEP 4: Click "Primary Setup" then key in LAN IP Address in the "IP range” (example: 192.168.0.1) then click "Change" on WAN Type option and change to PPPoE then click "Save" for both pages.



STEP 5:
Click "DHCP Server" then Click "Enable" on DHCP Server and then Click "Save"


STEP 6:
i: Click "Wireless" then Select "Enable" Wireless
ii: Key in "SSID name" (example: WDS1)
*if same SSID name with another AP, Security for both AP must be SAME
iii: Select "11b/g/n Mixed" Wireless Mode
iv: Select "Enable" SSID Broadcast and Select "11" Radio Channel
v: Click "Save", after that click "WDS"


STEP 7:
i: Select "Enable" Wireless Bridging
ii: Select another AP's MAC Address and "Copy to" Remote AP MAC "1"
iii: Click "Save then click "Reboot"

Wireless Router B Setting
Factory Default Setting:
IP Address: 192.168.0.1 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 DHCP: Enable

STEP 4: Click "Primary Setup" then key in LAN IP Address in the "IP range” (example: 192.168.0.2) and remain the WAN Type as "Dynamic IP Address", then Click "Save"


STEP 5:
Click "DHCP Server" then Click "Disable" on DHCP Server and then Click "Save"


STEP 6:
i: Click "Wireless" then Select "Enable" Wireless
ii: Key in "SSID name" (example: WDS1)
*if same SSID name with another AP, Security for both AP must be SAME
iii: Select "11b/g/n Mixed" Wireless Mode
iv: Select "Enable" SSID Broadcast and Select "11" Radio Channel
v: Click "Save", after that click "WDS"


STEP 7:
i: Select "Enable" Wireless Bridging
ii: Select another AP's MAC Address and "Copy to" Remote AP MAC "1"
iii: Click "Save then click "Reboot"

After completely configure, you can open command prompt for check WDS status.
STEP A: START->RUN..->TYPE ‘cmd’ and press on OK
STEP B: Type "ping 192.168.0.1 -t"
STEP C: Open another command prompt and type "ping 192.168.0.2 -t"
*You should able to see continuous ping response if the WDS done successfully

The ciritcal factors for make the WDS are:
1)IP address for both router must be different and in same range, example Router 1 is 192.168.0.1 and Router 2 is 192.168.0.2
2)Wireless SSID, Security type and password must be same for both router 1 and router 2.
3)All devices should not having same IP address, example modem, printer, PC.
4)Save the setting after configure, and restart the router, and then logout from the router or switch off and switch on the both routers agian.

  1. What do I put in for WAN Type in Primary Setup? Based on example, you have used Dynamic IP Address but that does not seem to work. My specs are ss follows. Please advise:

    - WEP
    - Streamyx ADSL dynamic IP address
    - clients are Panasonic BLC20 wireless IP cameras with fixed IP 201 to 205 and ports 50001 to 50004

    Just need to confirm, for the settings at WDS section, from Router A, we need to put in the Router B MAC Address is it?

    and for Router B, We need to put the Router A MAC Address is it?
